Senate Minority Whip John Thune on Thursday threw cold water on the bipartisan tax bill’s chances of becoming law, presenting a grimmer view of the bill’s prospects than GOP leaders have until now.
“I don’t think our members are in a place where there would be a significant enough vote,” Thune told us. “So there would have to be some real significant changes, which I’m guessing Democrats would be unwilling to make.”
