Menendez says he’s not going anywhere

Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NY) speaks during a press conference at Hudson County Community College’s North Hudson Campus on September 25, 2023 in Union City, New Jersey.

A combative Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) on Monday addressed the bribery and corruption charges against him for the first time, scolding those who called for his resignation and proclaiming he will be exonerated “when all the facts come out.”

Speaking in New Jersey, Menendez notably didn’t say whether he plans to run for reelection next year. But addressing the myriad calls for him to resign from the Senate, Menendez urged his colleagues to “pause and allow for all the facts to be presented.” The veteran Democrat didn’t take questions from reporters.
