The Senate’s 2026 calendar features lengthy recesses around July Fourth, August recess and the run-up to the November election.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune unveiled the calendar during the GOP lunch meeting, and you can check it out here.

The meeting also featured an intense debate about the controversial provision in the legislative branch funding bill that allows senators to sue the federal government for $500,000 if their phone records are obtained by the Justice Department.
