Hark, a spectrum deal approaches

White smoke is emerging from negotiations between Senate Republicans over spectrum auctions.

GOP Sens. Mike Rounds (S.D.) and Deb Fischer (Neb.) said Wednesday they have an initial agreement with the Senate Commerce Committee on the wireless policy in reconciliation. The two said it has yet to be finalized in legislative language, but the potential deal marks major progress after months of Republican infighting.
