Senate Majority Leader John Thune doubled down Tuesday on his push for bipartisan government funding bills despite the White House’s effort to unilaterally rescind $5 billion in congressionally approved spending.
Thune declined to weigh in on the legality of the so-called “pocket rescission,” saying it “will get resolved by the courts.” But the South Dakota Republican slammed Democrats for suggesting the move undermines bipartisan trust in the FY2026 funding process.
