Smith: IRS agents sought to link Hunter’s deals with Joe Biden’s actions

Rep. Jason Smith (R-MO) speaks during a news conference.

IRS agents who were investigating Hunter Biden for tax crimes sought to link his business deals to then-Vice President Joe Biden’s official duties, according to House GOP investigators.

House Ways and Means Committee Chair Jason Smith (R-Mo.) made the claim during a Wednesday press conference following the release of hundreds of pages of documents from two IRS whistleblowers. The panel voted on party lines to release IRS whistleblower documents that contained sensitive tax information protected under IRC Section 6103.
