Trump: Nationwide injunction ruling a ‘great day for democracy’

President Donald Trump hailed a Supreme Court ruling today that limited the issuance of nationwide injunctions by federal judges, a big victory for the executive branch.

Today’s high-profile decision came in a case tied to Trump’s hugely controversial executive order on birthright citizenship. The decision doesn’t mean birthright citizenship is banned. It would only apply to anyone born after the order goes into effect. The Supreme Court left intact the 30-day timetable for that.
