Cory Booker is Democrats’ new face on antitrust

A subcommittee reshuffle among Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee has Sen. Cory Booker (N.J.) replacing Big Tech nemesis Sen. Amy Klobuchar (Minn.) as the new top Democrat on the closely-watched antitrust panel.

Booker will serve alongside Chair Mike Lee (R-Utah) on a subcommittee that also covers competition policy and consumer rights. Antitrust has become a hot topic on the Hill as lawmakers call out Big Tech for anticompetitive behavior. Klobuchar’s departure has some in the tech world hopeful of more openness to their arguments.
