Elon Musk warned lawmakers Thursday that China’s ability to produce great amounts of energy can give them an edge in the AI race with the United States.

Musk, who owns xAI, made these comments at a meeting with House Energy and Commerce Committee Republicans.

House Energy Commerce Committee Chair Brett Guthrie (R-Ky.) said Musk’s warnings about energy issues and U.S. dependence on Chinese critical minerals should prompt bipartisan action in Congress.
