Sen. Jim Banks’ (R-Ind.) much-anticipated version of the AI Overwatch Act has finally arrived – and it comes with a surprise.
Banks is introducing Thursday the Senate companion to the bill that gives Congress greater oversight of the administration’s export control policy.
But unlike House Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Brian Mast’s (R-Fla.) original legislation, Banks’ version doesn’t empower Congress to block chip sales to U.S. adversaries like China.
