News: House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries told House Democrats on a call this morning that rank-and-file members should be prepared to return to Washington Sept. 29 ahead of a potential government shutdown.
Speaker Mike Johnson and House GOP leaders are not planning to bring the chamber back into session until at least Oct. 1, which is after a possible government shutdown would begin.
