How Congress is talking about the labor market

The U.S. labor market is the weakest it’s been in years. But few in Congress are experiencing it the same way.

Last week’s employment report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed the highest unemployment rate in four years. It’s not a terribly high number in historic terms — 4.6% for November, up from 4.4% in September.
