News: Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said he would not demand an amendment vote on credit card swipe fee legislation during a high-profile crypto markup scheduled for later this week.
Durbin said he would follow the lead of Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) and not push for an amendment vote on a provision modeled after the Credit Card Competition Act during the Senate Agriculture Committee markup on Thursday. Marshall and Durbin are the lead authors of CCCA.
We asked whether Durbin would bring up the amendment after Marshall decided to relent following opposition from Senate Agriculture Committee Chair John Boozman (R-Ark.).
“I think not,” Durbin replied Tuesday afternoon.
