Stephen Miller vs. the Senate

News: White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller clashed with several GOP senators over border security funding during a closed-door meeting Thursday, according to multiple sources.

Conservatives, including Sens. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and Roger Marshall (R-Kan.), laid into Miller over the White House’s proposed border funding as part of the GOP reconciliation effort. At one point, Johnson said Miller’s numbers “don’t add up,” and they got into what one senator described as a “shouting match.”
