News. Two senior GOP aides to House Financial Services Committee Chair French Hill (R-Ark.) will leave Congress this week to join the Trump administration.
Kyle Smithwick, chief counsel on the Financial Services panel, will join the Treasury Department as deputy assistant secretary for oversight. Brooke Nethercott, the committee’s deputy communications director, will join the Commodity Futures Trading Commission as director of public affairs.
Neither aide is straying far from the work they’ve been doing around the committee for the last several years.
