Hill, Scott ask Treasury to resist EU climate mandates

First in Punchbowl News: The Republican chairs of the House Financial Services and Senate Banking committees urged Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and the White House to “vocalize direct opposition” to European corporate sustainability directives.

The letter, sent today and led by Rep. French Hill (R-Ark.) and Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), tells Bessent and National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett that the European Union’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive threatens “U.S. jurisdictional sovereignty.”
