House GOP preps Fed building inquiry

News: Republicans on the House Financial Services Committee have sent a letter to the Federal Reserve with questions about the organization’s beleaguered renovation project.

It’s a small step compared to what the White House and even the Senate Banking Committee have been up to lately. But it’s a notable shift for the committee run by Rep. French Hill (R-Ark.), who has, to date, backstopped Fed Chair Jay Powell and the central bank’s independence.
