The wireless industry has been focused like a laser on getting Congress to free up more spectrum for commercial use so its products can work faster.

But it has other priorities on Capitol Hill that have been getting less attention.

We recently spoke with Ajit Pai, CEO of the powerful CTIA group that represents carriers in Washington. He said that beyond spectrum, carriers want lawmakers to make it easier to build wireless infrastructure by easing the regulatory process. What Pai didn’t want to talk about? Tariffs.
