Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee Chair Rand Paul (R-Ky.) abruptly canceled the markup of the renewal of a crucial cybersecurity law scheduled for Thursday.
The panel was set to consider Paul’s proposal to reauthorize the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015, which will expire Sept. 30. Paul’s bill had no endorsement from the tech industry, which is pushing Congress for a clean reauthorization. It’s not clear whether it had enough support to clear the panel Thursday.
