Amid near-constant fighting in Congress over the IRS budget, funding for customer service and modernizing technology has largely escaped the partisan bickering.
But now that those funds are dwindling and expected to run out around FY2026, some Republicans aren’t so keen on keeping the tap flowing to backfill that Inflation Reduction Act-level budget.
