A bill that may prove crucial to building a comprehensive artificial intelligence regulatory framework has been gaining steam behind the scenes.
“We have enough votes now to get it out of committee,” Sen. Chris Coons
(D-Del.) said of his No Fakes Act, which would impose liability on those creating unauthorized deepfakes of people’s voice or likeness. “I’m very optimistic,” Coons said.
