For weeks, controversy and intrigue have swirled around the nomination of Kevin Warsh to chair the Federal Reserve Board. Now, we’re getting something of a reprieve.
The Senate Banking Committee will host a good ol’ fashioned confirmation hearing with Warsh on Tuesday. It will be an almost mundane event against its surreal backdrop — a president who refuses to drop an unsubstantiated criminal investigation into the current Fed chair versus a senator who will continue to block Warsh’s nomination until that matter is resolved.
